📋 Description

• Own the technical direction for Pro Verifications architecture, engineering patterns, and build-versus-vendor decisions • Set the shape of verification services and contracts across the KYC/KYB flow • Abstract KYC and KYB vendors to prevent provider failures from causing outages • Design fail-closed behavior and audit trails suitable for regulatory scrutiny • Identify and permanently eliminate recurring classes of failure • Write and drive architecture decision records (ADRs) • Maintain security and compliance standards at design time • Mentor and raise the bar for senior engineers through design reviews, code, and direct feedback • Improve verification speed, automation, decision accuracy, system availability, and team capability • Deploy frequently behind feature flags in small, reversible pieces

🎯 Requirements

• Around eight years building and running production systems • Track record of owning a domain's technical direction • Deep, fluent expertise in Rust • Versatility to work across TypeScript and React • Experience setting architecture that other engineers build on • Experience designing out recurring classes of failure • Experience improving team productivity through patterns, tooling, or mentoring • Experience in compliance, payments, security, or another domain where errors have significant consequences • Strong knowledge of distributed systems, service contracts, and secure design • Experience integrating third-party APIs with timeouts, retries, idempotency, circuit breakers, and tested backup paths • Comfortable with, or able to quickly ramp on, gRPC, Temporal, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, MySQL/MariaDB, Redis, and GitLab CI • Nice to have: KYC, KYB, or fraud experience, including Trulioo, Persona, or ComplyAdvantage • Nice to have: experience building with AI in the loop • Nice to have: crypto, fintech, or regulated-industry experience
