📋 Description

• Overall responsibility for the strategic and operational development of the entire engineering organization • Unite historically grown development teams, architectures and codebases into a single organization • Establish a sustainable modernization strategy to reduce technical debt and advance software architectures and development platforms • Own the overall technical architecture and define technological guardrails • Develop the technical roadmap together with Product Management, Product Owners and Scrum Masters • Lead Team Leads and development teams both technically and disciplinarily • Develop a performance-oriented leadership culture and foster talent and future leaders • Manage resources, capacities and budgets • Continuously improve processes, methods, standards and development tools • Establish modern engineering practices with a focus on agility, CI/CD, DevOps, test automation, code quality and security by design • Evaluate new technologies and AI approaches with regard to their potential value • Work closely with Product Management, Quality Assurance, Release Management, Professional Services and other corporate functions • Ensure compliance with relevant quality, security and regulatory requirements in healthcare

🎯 Requirements

• Solid and up-to-date experience in software development • Deep understanding of modern technologies, software architectures and development processes • Several years of leadership experience in software development • Experience successfully leading large development organizations • Proven track record in transforming and evolving development organizations, especially in historically grown system landscapes • Experience in consolidating development teams, software architectures and codebases, ideally in mergers or integration projects • Strong knowledge of modern software architectures, cloud-native architectures, DevOps principles and contemporary development processes • Experience in strategic management of technical debt and modernizing complex software platforms • Understanding of and practical experience with advancing agile development methods • Experience in leading and developing Team Leads and development teams and building high-performing organizational structures • Confident communication at all levels and the ability to reconcile different interests • Entrepreneurial mindset, clear decisiveness and the ability to translate strategic goals into sustainable technical solutions • Experience in regulated software development environments, e.g., healthcare, medical devices or laboratory environments, is an advantage
