📋 Description

• Design and implement data ingestion, transformation, and delivery pipelines on AWS, writing and maintaining Apache Iceberg tables in S3 • Develop distributed Spark jobs (EMR and/or AWS Glue), including incremental loads, upserts (MERGE), and historical reprocessing • Ensure integration between Snowflake and the Iceberg lakehouse, including external volumes, catalog integration, managed tables, and metadata synchronization • Automate Iceberg table maintenance, including compaction, snapshot expiration, orphan file removal, and schema and partition evolution • Model and optimize data models and queries in Snowflake • Monitor and optimize the cost and performance of AWS and Snowflake environments • Establish data engineering best practices, including Git, CI/CD, testing, documentation, and data lineage • Implement governance and security using RBAC, masking policies, row access policies, and Lake Formation • Diagnose and resolve performance and availability issues • Serve as a technical reference by reviewing code, mentoring less experienced professionals, and documenting architectural decisions • Collaborate with data, product, and business teams to gather requirements and define solutions

🎯 Requirements

• At least 5 years of proven experience working in AWS cloud environments • At least 3 years of proven experience with Snowflake, including data modeling, query optimization, and warehouse and cost management • Proven production experience with Apache Iceberg; 2 or more years preferred • Experience with Apache Spark at scale (PySpark), including job tuning and diagnosing skew and shuffle issues • Knowledge of S3, Glue (ETL and Data Catalog), EMR, Athena, Lambda, and Step Functions • Advanced SQL proficiency for complex queries and optimization in high-volume data environments • Experience with data modeling and Data Warehouse, Data Lake, and Lakehouse architectures • Python applied to automation and data engineering • Experience orchestrating pipelines using Airflow, Step Functions, dbt, or an equivalent tool • Git proficiency and experience with version control, testing, and code review practices • Technical English proficiency for reading documentation • A PPT case study demonstrating Snowflake experience is required • Nice to have: SnowPro certification; AWS certifications; Terraform or another Infrastructure as Code tool; production experience with dbt; open catalogs and multi-engine scenarios; streaming; observability and data quality tools
