📋 Description

• Design and implement large-scale data architectures on the AWS ecosystem, applying the Data Lakehouse paradigm • Serve as the team's technical lead, guiding architectural decisions and promoting data engineering best practices • Design and evolve resilient, secure solutions with attention to high availability, fault recovery, and growth in data volumes • Build and optimize distributed large-volume processing on EMR and Glue • Structure storage and analytics consumption layers, including Redshift and the corporate data lake • Implement data governance and security controls using Lake Formation, including cataloging and access control • Lead cost optimization of data solutions, evaluating trade-offs across architecture, storage, and processing • Define and maintain technical, quality, and documentation standards for delivered solutions • Translate business objectives into data architectures, collaborating with technical and business stakeholders

🎯 Requirements

• Proven experience as a Data Engineer working on complex, large-scale data architectures • Hands-on experience with the AWS data ecosystem (Lake Formation, EMR, Redshift, and Glue) • Deep knowledge of the Data Lakehouse paradigm, with experience designing or evolving such architectures • Proficient in SQL for analytical queries, data transformation, and performance tuning • Experience using Python for data engineering and distributed processing • Experience with large-scale distributed processing using Apache Spark • Advanced knowledge of enterprise data governance, including cataloging, lineage, data quality, and access control • Experience designing secure, resilient solutions with focus on availability and fault recovery • Experience optimizing costs for cloud data environments • Act as a technical reference, able to lead architectural decisions and mentor other engineers • AWS certifications focused on data or solution architecture • Experience with transactional table formats such as Apache Iceberg, Delta Lake, or Apache Hudi • Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or CloudFormation) for provisioning data resources • Experience with orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow or AWS Step Functions • Knowledge of FinOps applied to cloud data environments • Previous experience in consulting or servicing multiple clients • Technical leadership mindset, willing to coach and develop other engineers • Strategic mindset to connect technical decisions to business objectives • Critical thinking to evaluate trade-offs between performance, cost, security, and timelines • Clear communication skills to advocate architectural decisions with technical and non-technical audiences • Autonomy to drive initiatives end-to-end, from design through support • Ownership mindset regarding the reliability, security, and cost of delivered solutions
