📋 Description

• Verify patient insurance eligibility, benefits, and coverage • Obtain, track, and follow up on prior authorizations • Communicate with insurance providers to resolve coverage and authorization issues • Contact patients and family members regarding insurance-related concerns and financial responsibility • Review and explain self-pay options when insurance coverage is unavailable or insufficient • Document insurance and authorization information accurately in appropriate systems • Maintain working knowledge of Medicare, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, and commercial insurance plans • Utilize EHR systems, insurance portals, and relevant technology tools • Demonstrate a positive, professional manner and manage time efficiently • Provide leadership as a role model and promote a team approach • Collaborate and participate in policy creation and problem-solving • Adhere to company policies, the Employee Information Guide, Code of Conduct, facility handbooks, and applicable laws and regulations • Provide care with respect and dignity for residents/clients, families, and staff • Report complaints and allegations of abuse, misappropriation, or compliance violations to appropriate supervisors • Complete annual education requirements, including Compliance, Privacy, Security, and HIPAA training • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Experience navigating insurance portals • Familiarity with the Athena EHR system • Comfortable communicating with patients and families by phone • Background in benefits and eligibility verification for claims on behalf of the provider • Knowledge of medical billing processes • Strong documentation skills • Ability to understand medical jargon • Excellent English writing and communication skills • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite • Reliable computer • Noise-cancelling headset • Second monitor • Stable internet connection • Backup internet connection • Ability to work US Eastern Standard Time (EST), 9 am to 6 pm
