📋 Description

• Design, build, and maintain backend services in Python using FastAPI • Design and expose clean, well-documented REST APIs for frontend consumption • Own the release cycle end-to-end, including the release calendar, versioning, and deployment coordination across staging and production • Manage and evolve Kubernetes deployments • Write and maintain Helm charts • Understand CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions • Work with AWS infrastructure supporting Aedeon's services • Monitor production health via CloudWatch • Participate in on-call and incident response • Work with PostgreSQL, including query optimization • Build and maintain durable workflows using Temporal for long-running or fault-tolerant processes • Collaborate with frontend engineers on API design, contracts, and integration needs • Stay close to code and infrastructure while taking ownership of how Aedeon ships

🎯 Requirements

• 4 to 6 years of professional software engineering experience • Strong Python skills; FastAPI preferred, with Django/Flask experience also considered • Solid, hands-on production experience with Kubernetes deployments, services, configuration, debugging, and performance and cost improvements • Experience writing and maintaining Helm charts • Working knowledge of AWS services • Comfortable designing REST APIs with frontend consumers in mind • Experience with PostgreSQL • Ownership of releases and accountability for clean, timely delivery • Docker and general containerization fundamentals • Ability to collaborate closely with frontend engineers on API contracts and integration needs • Working knowledge of RabbitMQ or similar message queuing systems • Experience with Temporal or a similar durable workflow orchestration engine • CloudWatch or similar observability/monitoring tools preferred • Exposure to Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code tools preferred • Experience with additional message queues such as SQS or Kafka preferred • Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines preferred • Individual-contributor role, not a management or lead position
