âą Understanding the book in form and job budget âą Receive client information from Senior Accountant âą Breakdown job budget (Compliance 75% and review and collation 25%) âą Review current year tax planning, notes, handover notes and current year trust resolution. âą Work independently on compliance work and seek assistance and advice as required from the Senior Accountant âą Prepare clear and accurate workpapers in line with practice procedures and expectations. âą Undertake self-review to ensure work is at the highest possible standard within the job budget. âą Attend teams calls with Senior Accountant post job review to discuss and understand review points. âą Finalise the job and email back to the senior as a priority after the teams call ends. âą Update workflow every time a job is QO, QI, R or finalised. âą Maintain organised and accurate client files as per procedures. âą Attend weekly workflow meetings and communicate job priorities âą Provide general support to senior accountants as required. âą Follow instructions and complete tasks within agreed timeframes. âą Learning from review points and mistakes to avoid repeating in the future. âą Attend training sessions and actively participate in developing technical knowledge.
âą Degree in accounting or any related course. âą With at least 5 years of total Australian tax accounting experience. âą Organisation, planning and time management skills. âą Strong communication skills (written and verbal) âą Good attitude to learn and develop. âą Willingness to ask questions and understand reasons for review points. âą Ongoing education and training regarding Australian tax requirements and accounting principles âą Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, ACESS) âą Good attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. âą Positive, professional attitude and team-oriented mindset. âą CPA and/or CA qualification is advantageous. âą Experience in public practice is advantageous. âą Familiarity with Handi Tax is advantageous.
