📋 Description

• Develop and implement conservation actions and programs at small to medium scales. • Provide technical guidance on activities related to management, monitoring, and preservation. • Contribute to the planning and implementation of initiatives addressing threats to natural systems and species. • Provide analyses and information for local- or landscape-level territorial planning processes. • Coordinate project activities, identify priorities, and track schedules, ensuring delivery timelines and quality standards are met. • Participate in events and engage with governments, Indigenous Peoples, and local or regional networks. • Support finance, logistics, and procurement processes, including event organization; arranging travel, fuel, and meals; hiring service providers; and preparing invitation letters. • Support the preparation and processing of service contracts. • Maintain project implementation management spreadsheets and support the collection and recording of information for performance reports. • Support associations and networks of Indigenous Peoples, Quilombola communities, and traditional communities in strengthening institutional capacity and self-governance. • Facilitate institutional and financial arrangements for payment for ecosystem services. • Lead multisectoral co-construction activities for public policies affecting Indigenous Peoples, Quilombola communities, and traditional communities (PIQCTs). • Support engagement with local communities and institutions, strengthening conservation participation and governance. • Travel as needed and work in remote and physically demanding locations.

🎯 Requirements

• Experience managing teams or volunteers. • Experience developing relationships and working closely with diverse partners, such as media representatives, government authorities, and internal scientists. • Experience completing tasks independently while meeting deadlines. • Experience using administrative software applications, such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and web browsers. • Experience working with Indigenous Peoples, Quilombola communities, and traditional communities (PIQCTs). • Minimum education: Bachelor's degree and three years of experience in natural resource management or a related field. • Minimum language requirement: Portuguese proficiency in oral and written communication. • Three to five years of experience in socioenvironmental or natural resource management, a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. • Ability and willingness to apply science to decision-making and activity guidance. • Experience providing training and capacity building. • Preferred education: Graduate degree in a related field is an advantage. • Preferred language: Basic English proficiency. • Travel as needed. • Availability to work in varied weather and terrain conditions, including remote and physically demanding locations. • The successful candidate must meet The Nature Conservancy's background check requirements.
