📋 Description

• Monitor and maintain award funds and accounts • Provide budgeting, forecasting, and financial oversight services • Review expenditures for allowability, allocability, and reasonableness • Communicate grant terms and conditions to project teams, focusing on compliance • Navigate multiple research administration systems and provide guidance to faculty and staff • Anticipate and proactively address researchers’ needs • Deliver excellent customer service • Manage high-stakes conversations around policy, compliance, and regulations • Work independently with minimal oversight while collaborating with the wider team • Balance competing priorities and deadlines with strong organization, time management, and communication • Support Notre Dame faculty, researchers, and research administrators throughout the research lifecycle

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience • 3+ years of professional work experience • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply federal and non-federal regulations to sponsored projects • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret and apply complex policies and regulations • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to engage professionally with diverse stakeholders • Proficiency in research administration systems and comfort guiding others in their use • Strong organizational, time, and project management skills • Ability to perform under pressure with confidence • Ability to provide mentorship to junior colleagues for senior-level roles • Preferred for senior-level candidates: 3+ years in higher education grants management • Preferred for senior-level candidates: strong knowledge of eRA systems, sponsor systems, compliance, and regulatory requirements • Certified Research Administrator (CRA) credential preferred • Experience mentoring or training junior staff preferred • Graduate-level coursework in financial accounting or related areas preferred • Cover letter and resume required for application
