📋 Description
• Own the Oomnitza design system end-to-end, including visual language, interaction patterns, accessibility guardrails, and product consistency • Maintain and extend the Storybook component library so components are correct, documented, performant, accessible, and easy for Product Engineers to compose • Build and maintain prototyping tooling, including design tokens, AI-prompt scaffolds, design markdowns, and starter kits • Consult with Product Engineers on novel UX interactions and create new patterns, components, or guidance for the system • Partner with engineering to align the design system with the implementation library and identify one-off interactions for system promotion • Review prototypes against the system, flag design drift, and maintain the quality bar for design output • Track Figma plugins, AI design tooling, headless component libraries, and accessibility standards; propose investments to improve team velocity • Provide Product Engineers with a well-tested, documented, opinionated platform for fast, high-quality discovery and prototyping • Spend most of the role working in code and design tooling while consulting on genuinely novel interactions
🎯 Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction, computer science, or a related field, or equivalent experience • 5+ years combined across product design and front-end engineering • Experience owning or substantially contributing to a production design system and a Storybook or equivalent component library • Strong front-end skills in React, TypeScript, modern CSS including design tokens, and accessibility best practices • Comfort with AI-enabled design and prototyping workflows • Ability to recognize good design and codify it into reusable patterns and components • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including documenting patterns, briefing Product Engineers, and influencing without authority • Self-directed and outcome-oriented, with the ability to identify high-leverage system investments and prioritize independently • B2B SaaS or enterprise software experience is a strong plus
