📋 Description

• Design and evolve backend systems powering real-time collaborative document editing for tens of thousands of concurrent users • Own the content model and data persistence layer, including schema design, migrations, compatibility, and maintainability • Build and maintain event-driven pipelines using Kafka and NATS • Contribute to reliability, observability, and operational excellence of Python microservices • Ship product features end-to-end, from backend architecture through production monitoring • Contribute to AI-powered capabilities, including agentic document workflows • Work on PandaDoc’s document workflow automation platform for creating, managing, and signing digital documents

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of Python development experience in production environments • Strong experience with relational databases, SQL, schema design, migrations, and query optimization • Hands-on experience with message queues and event-driven architectures such as Kafka, NATS, RabbitMQ, or similar • Deep understanding of AsyncIO and concurrent systems • Experience building and operating microservice architectures at scale • Ability to reason about distributed systems, consistency, ordering, and failure modes • Understanding of the full development lifecycle from requirements through deployment and production monitoring • Effective spoken and written English communication • Active use of AI tools in daily workflow and critical evaluation of their output • Experience with AI agents, LLM-powered workflows, or agentic systems is nice to have
