What it means: the chance that no one is really hiring for this job.How to read it: 60% or higher means we think this is a ghost. Lower scores are less of a worry. How we score it: age, reposts, open roles vs team size, how fast jobs close, and whether pay is listed.Fine print: an estimate from public data, not a judgment of the company. Real jobs can score high, so treat it as a hint, not a fact.

Pear Tree is a Melbourne‑born offshore recruitment and hiring services company that connects Australian, US, and UK businesses directly with skilled offshore professionals (primarily from the Philippines) without agency markups. They provide end-to-end hiring support — sourcing, screening, skills assessments, video interviews, reference checks — and offer payroll, Employer‑of‑Record, and compliance assistance plus a six‑month replacement guarantee. Pear Tree recruits across IT, sales & marketing, finance, creative, admin and operations roles, emphasizing cost savings, direct pay to talent, and secure onboarding workflows.

📋 Description

• You’ll be responsible for the financial operations, reporting rhythm, cash visibility, and key operational controls across: • Family investment trust • Australian operating company • Australian health & wellness business with physical product / inventory (Unleashed ERP) • Personal family budget — household cash flow, recurring payments, and simple reporting, handled with discretion and clear boundaries (currently in Lunch Money; open to alternatives) • Your job is to run the close, the cash, the controls, and the value-creation moves cleanly across the three entities plus the family budget.

🎯 Requirements

• 5–8 years finance + ops experience for SMEs / owner-operated businesses • Deep, current Xero across multi-entity setups (including a trust) • Strong Australian tax context — BAS, GST, super, STP, FBT — adds value to expense categorisation, not just records what's given • Demonstrated cashflow operator — managed weekly cashflow with granular detail; can point to tangible improvements (DSO, late fees, working capital) • Google Sheets fluency — can extend an existing model, not just build from scratch • Inventory exposure — reorder points, EOQ, S&OP rhythm • Analytical and proactive — pushes insights without being asked
