📋 Description

• Provide senior medical and scientific expertise in obesity and cardiometabolic medicine for the obesity pipeline, particularly GLP-1 therapies, and the broader cardiometabolic environment • Build and maintain a strategically relevant network of clinical and scientific experts, institutions, professional societies, and research groups • Manage and strategically develop external speakers and research partners • Identify, discuss, and address strategically important medical and pharmaceutical questions and projects • Lead regional or national Medical Advisory Boards and round tables • Critically assess clinical research, key publications, and congress presentations • Translate findings into relevant medical and scientific implications, while proactively identifying and conceptually developing study ideas • Make a substantial contribution to the development of the Medical Plan • Independently lead selected regional or national implementation activities, as well as strategically relevant Medical projects and workstreams • Provide subject-matter advice and mentoring to Field Medical Affairs Scientists, and support the Medical Director with onboarding, knowledge building, and team development • Assume topic ownership in internal knowledge management and document relevant insights in OneMed • Build scientific expertise independent of specific products • Consistently implement and provide guidance on Medical Compliance • Independently create and review medical and scientific materials • Field-based role involving approximately 50% virtual interactions

🎯 Requirements

• Degree in human medicine, veterinary medicine, pharmacy, or a natural science subject, meeting the requirements for scientific expertise under Section 75 of the German Medicinal Products Act; a doctorate is preferred • At least five years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry, or at least two years of industry experience combined with relevant clinical or scientific experience in the therapeutic area • Deep medical and pharmaceutical expertise, including scientific methodology and clinical study interpretation • Demonstrated, in-depth metabolic expertise • Demonstrated experience independently leading complex projects or workstreams, including in cross-functional and matrix-organized environments • Demonstrated experience strategically building networks with external experts • Fluent German at C1 level or higher • Very good command of English • Category B driving license • Ability to strategically assess complex scientific topics, communicate them appropriately to different audiences, and derive recommendations for action • Excellent presentation, communication, facilitation, and influencing skills • Strong team spirit and the ability to serve as a role model • Ability and willingness to provide subject-matter advice, mentoring, and knowledge transfer without direct people-management responsibility • Proficiency with digital collaboration tools • Commitment to Pfizer’s values: Courage, Excellence, Equity, and Joy
