• Own general ledger accounting processes for all P&L and balance sheet accounts • Maintain documented accounting policies and training materials • Oversee Treasury, accounts payable, and general ledger accounting for multiple business units and legal entities • Review journal entries and prepare complex general ledger entries • Review accounts payable spending and cash-flow forecasts • Approve accounts payable invoices and assist with ACH/wire cash-management submissions and approvals • Review balance-sheet reconciliations and prepare complex reconciliations as needed • Finalize consolidated corporate SGA budgets and forecasts and determine allocations to business units • Provide actual-versus-budget spend analysis and commentary to corporate departments • Train and mentor staff and conduct team training at least twice annually • Improve processes, integrate acquisitions, and initiate projects • Monitor and implement emerging US GAAP standards • Establish internal controls to reduce payment errors, duplicate payments, and fraud • Review vendor and customer spend and aging analyses • Review customer contracts for ASC 606 revenue-recognition compliance • Review audit support and accounting memos, prepare audit schedules, and manage PBC requests • Ensure compliance with local statutory accounting and reporting requirements • Oversee preparation, review, and submission of statutory financial statements • Serve as primary contact for local accounting and tax partners • Assist with system implementations, integrations, acquisitions, and other strategic initiatives
• Bachelor’s degree with a minimum concentration in accounting or finance • Accounting Designation preferred (CPA) • Experience managing multiple legal entities within EMEA • Minimum of 12+ years of relevant experience • Equivalent combination of education, professional training and experience accepted • Computerised Ledger System experience (e.g. Infor) preferred • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills preferred • Strong MS Office literacy (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) preferred • Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial regulations, and accounting best practices, including US and international accounting standards preferred • Proficient English language skills to communicate effectively with local teams, auditors, and regulatory authorities preferred • Work experience from a Pharma Services organization or Clinical Research Organization preferred • Demonstrated leadership capabilities and experience developing teams preferred
