📋 Description

• Own day-to-day accounting for One Real Mortgage • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, reclassifications, and adjusting entries for month-end and year-end close • Review general ledger activity, investigate discrepancies, ensure accurate account classification, and maintain supporting documentation • Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding reconciling items • Prepare monthly financial reports, supporting schedules, and account analyses • Review and process vendor invoices and monitor outstanding invoices for timely payment • Track broker checks received, verify additional funds, coordinate payment processing, and follow up on outstanding checks • Review expenses and allocate costs to entities, departments, or business units • Prepare intercompany and other expense bill-backs • Maintain documentation for journal entries, reconciliations, invoices, payments, and other transactions for audit readiness • Partner with mortgage operations, accounts payable, and finance stakeholders to follow up on open items • Support accurate, timely financial close and financial reporting for the mortgage business

🎯 Requirements

• Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and core accounting concepts, including accruals, reconciliations, and intercompany activity • Hands-on experience with an ERP or general ledger system, such as NetSuite or similar • Proficiency in Excel, including lookups, pivot tables, and reconciliation workbooks • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy • Strong organization and time management skills to meet month-end close deadlines • Clear written and verbal communication skills • Familiarity with mortgage lending operations or financial services accounting is a plus • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field • 6+ years of accounting experience, ideally including month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, and accounts payable • Mortgage, lending, or financial services experience preferred • CA or progress toward CA is a plus but not required • Candidates must be based in India • Ability to sit for long periods of time
