📋 Description

• Take ownership of the engineering function in collaboration with the CEO and wider business • Write, review, and ship production code • Shape technical architecture and engineering decisions • Lead, coach, and develop the software engineering team • Own sprint execution, agile delivery, and roadmap planning • Maintain high standards around DevOps, CI/CD, reliability, privacy, and security • Collaborate with Product, Sales, Customer Success, and other stakeholders • Support hiring and development of the engineering team • Translate technical decisions into clear business outcomes • Report directly to the CEO

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience • Recent hands-on experience writing production code • Experience with software architecture and technical decision-making • Leadership experience as an Engineering Manager, Tech Lead, or Team Lead • Experience coaching and mentoring engineers • Strong understanding of agile product delivery • Experience in a startup or fast-moving technology environment • Excellent communication skills in English • Ability to work autonomously and take ownership quickly • Experience with Go/Golang, React, PostgreSQL, and AWS is highly relevant but not required • Strong engineering fundamentals and hands-on experience with modern web applications • Ability to cover Halifax / Atlantic time business hours
