📋 Description

• Develop safeguarding risk assessments and advise on mitigation actions • Ensure organisational safeguarding protocols are understood and followed • Coordinate safeguarding training for the youth and survivor delegation and staff • Review informed and ongoing consent processes for storytelling, media engagement, and public-facing materials • Coordinate ethical handling of photos, videos, and narratives with the communications team • Provide safeguarding input on advocacy materials and partner communications • Review advocacy and Youth & Survivor Summit plans from a safeguarding perspective • Integrate safeguarding into advocacy, events, and communications workstreams • Conduct safeguarding risk assessments for the Youth & Survivor Summit, Youth Innovations Marketplace, and conference satellite and side events • Identify risks and mitigation strategies for in-person and digital engagement • Develop delegation-pack guidance, including urgent mental-health care information in Manila • Recruit and coordinate the on-the-ground safeguarding team • Provide pre-event mental-health support and deliver a 30-minute online preparation session • Lead the safeguarding and mental-health support team during the conference • Provide on-the-ground safeguarding and one-on-one support • Lead grounding and safeguarding briefing activities • Facilitate a one-hour wellbeing session on 15 November • Participate in daily delegation debriefs • Act as safeguarding focal point, escalating and reporting concerns according to organisational procedures • Provide post-event mental-health support and follow-up calls • Contribute safeguarding reflections, documentation, post-event reviews, campaign reports, and donor deliverables • Participate in planning, coordination, debrief, and evaluation meetings

🎯 Requirements

• Advanced degree or certification in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related mental health field • Demonstrated expertise in safeguarding, trauma-informed practice, and de-escalation techniques, especially with survivor communities • Expertise in online safety and security • Experience managing safeguarding in high-profile or multi-stakeholder events • Experience supporting vulnerable groups to participate in global conferences and events • Strong understanding of ethical storytelling and consent, including digital and media risks • Expertise in child sexual violence, online harms, and global advocacy campaigns • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism • Experience working across diverse cultural contexts and global teams • Knowledge of the Filipino language is strongly desirable • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to the highest professional and ethical standards • Strong preference for the consultant to be based in the Philippines
