• Prepare project budgets based on program concepts for our German projects • Manage and monitor the use of funds (public and private) • Prepare and review funding drawdown requests • Prepare interim and final reports • Review travel expense claims and invoices • Review fee, grant and cooperation agreements and contribute to finance-relevant passages: funding drawdown procedures, templates, deadlines • Monitor and control financial reports and funding drawdowns from partner organizations and grant recipients • Maintain databases by recording and updating project data, funding drawdowns and contract data • Track donor guidelines for public (e.g., EU or AMIF) and private grants as well as other standards regarding grant law, the Federal Budget Code (Bundeshaushaltsordnung), expenditure deadlines, procurement rules, etc.
• University degree in economics, law, public administration or comparable qualifications/experience • Several years of solid professional experience managing project finances in a non-profit organization, ideally with grant-funded projects • Basic accounting knowledge; knowledge of budgetary and grant law and institutional donor guidelines at EU, federal and state levels (in particular EU, AMIF) • Strong numerical aptitude and confident use of Microsoft Office applications • Flexible, positive and solution-oriented mindset • High degree of initiative, decisiveness and enjoyment in shaping strategic processes • Experience using ERP and CRM systems • Excellent written and spoken German and English
