📋 Description

• Prepare year-end accounts files for a portfolio of clients • Work through trial balances and supporting schedules to prepare financial statements • Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies • Prepare and maintain working papers and supporting documentation • Process year-end journals and adjustments where required • Assist with statutory financial statements • Ensure accounts files are complete, accurate and prepared within agreed deadlines • Respond to queries arising during accounts preparation • Escalate complex or unusual accounting matters to a Senior or Manager • Collaborate with Managers and Seniors across the UK team • Communicate with colleagues and clients • Request and follow up on information required to complete accounts files • Maintain accurate records and ensure work is completed to a high standard

🎯 Requirements

• Practical experience in an accounts preparation role • Strong experience preparing year-end accounts files • Good understanding of financial statements and accounting principles • Experience completing reconciliations and supporting schedules • Experience using commercial accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks Online or similar • Strong attention to detail and accuracy • Good organisational skills and ability to work to deadlines • Good written and verbal English communication skills • Ability to work independently in a remote environment • AGA(SA) or equivalent accounting qualification is advantageous • Part-qualified candidates or candidates with relevant practical accounts experience will also be considered • CA(SA) qualification is not required • Experience preparing accounts for UK clients is desirable • Knowledge of UK accounting standards, including FRS 102, is desirable • Experience with UK practice software such as IRIS or CCH is desirable • Experience working in a cloud-based accounting environment is desirable • Audit experience is not required
