📋 Description

• Prepare accurate BAS work papers for review, with progression toward ATO portal lodgement as access is established • Ensure full compliance with Australian GST, PAYG withholding, and ATO reporting obligations • Manage and maintain Xero as the primary accounting platform, including transaction processing, reconciliations, and financial reporting • Perform regular bank reconciliations and maintain clean, audit-ready financial records • Stay current with Australian tax regulations and compliance requirements • Liaise with internal stakeholders on financial matters in a clear, professional manner • Support multiple client accounts simultaneously, managing competing priorities with accuracy and professionalism across each engagement

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on accounting experience working with Australian clients • Proven BAS preparation experience and strong working knowledge of Australian GST and ATO compliance obligations • Experienced with ATO portal lodgement - must have the qualifications and knowledge to lodge independently (portal access will be granted progressively) • Solid PAYG withholding knowledge and practical application • Strong, practical Xero proficiency • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field • CA, CPA, or working toward a professional accounting qualification (highly desirable) • High degree of reliability, consistency, and self-motivation - comfortable working independently in a remote setting • Clear and professional written and verbal communication in English • Experience with Xero add-ons (e.g. Dext, Hubdoc, ApprovalMax) is an advantage • Prior experience in a public practice or multi-client environment is an advantage
