âą Direct and lead operational activities of the Clinical Pharmacology department âą Evaluate departmental workloads, resources, and technology to improve operational efficiency âą Establish systems that produce quality work and support continual departmental growth âą Provide consultancy expertise on study design, pharmacokinetics, and clinical pharmacology to internal departments and clients âą Participate in project development and FDA meetings concerning investigational and marketed drugs âą Manage departmental staff, including recruitment, promotion, termination, work allocation, coordination, and conflict resolution âą Promote employee development and complete performance planning âą Ensure consistent personnel practices and compliance with company and department policies âą Ensure adherence to scientific, ethical, regulatory, working-practice, and SOP standards âą Provide infrastructure support to the Clinical Pharmacology Department âą Assist with strategic planning, departmental business plans, and budgets âą Support Business Development and bid and proposal activities âą Oversee performance management, coaching, mentoring, employee counseling, salary administration, hiring, corrective action, separations, time records, expense reports, leave requests, and overtime âą Occasionally drive to site or client locations and travel within the United States
âą Previous experience comparable to 12+ years, or equivalent and relevant combination of education, training, and experience âą 5+ years of management responsibility âą Strong leadership skills âą Demonstrated success working in a multi-disciplinary team setting âą Strong management skills, including management of multiple projects and staff members âą Ability to allocate personnel resources based on project priorities and complexity âą Ability to manage schedules for large pharmacokinetic and clinical pharmacology programs supporting regulatory submissions âą Knowledge of regulatory guidelines related to clinical pharmacology and pharmacokinetics in drug development âą Excellent knowledge of the drug development process âą Strong theoretical background in pharmacokinetics âą Experience applying pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics in drug development âą Excellent written and verbal communication skills âą Good organizational skills and adaptability to changing priorities
