📋 Description

• Technical overall responsibility for the further development of the product across architecture, data model, backend, frontend and interfaces • Analyze the existing codebase, define the target architecture and progressively refactor the legacy stack toward cloud-native, modular services and well-defined APIs • Establish and scale the use of AI tools across the entire SDLC, including coding assistance, code review, test generation and documentation • Develop a technically viable product roadmap for multiple global markets together with Product Management • Recruit, coach and develop a lean, high-performing engineering team of up to 5 FTE • Implement scalable development processes such as CI/CD, automated testing, observability and incident management • Collaborate with executive management, business development, product management, customer success and international stakeholders • Ensure platform stability, security, data protection and compliance in a highly regulated environment • Apply AI-driven methods in the product, for example data enrichment, classification and decision support • Contribute to the group-wide tech strategy, including API harmonization, shared data models, cross-entity initiatives and tech due diligence for acquisitions

🎯 Requirements

• Several years of experience as an Engineering Manager, Tech Lead or Head of Engineering in a SaaS or platform environment • Ideally experience owning a mature product that has been modernized • Proven experience in refactoring and migrating grown system architectures from legacy to cloud-native • Experience with products deployed in multiple countries or global markets • Experience with localization, regulatory differences and regional data requirements • Solid understanding of modern software architectures (cloud-native, microservices, event-driven) • Experience with at least one hyperscaler (Azure, AWS or GCP) • Hands-on mentality: continue to program, review code and discuss architecture and data models • Experience with complex data models and integrations with third-party systems • Practical experience with AI-assisted development tools • Clear leadership skills in lean teams • Experience in hiring and team development • Confident stakeholder management up to C-/executive level • Strong delivery orientation • Fluent communication in German and English • Entrepreneurial, result-oriented working style
