📋 Description

• Integrate MHPSS into EMT national SOPs and emergency operations • Support at least six EMTs to incorporate MHPSS, referral pathways, psychological first aid, and SGBV survivor-centred referrals • Support implementation of technical standards and guidance for MHPSS Specialized Care Teams • Integrate MHPSS scenarios into simulation exercises and after-action reporting • Adapt and refine PFA and MHPSS in Emergencies training materials for Pacific EMTs • Deliver in-person and remote trainings, workshops, webinars, and network meetings • Contribute to the global EMT MHPSS Community of Practice and support Pacific focal-point participation • Lead development of MHPSS minimum-standards guidance and/or a peer-reviewed publication • Maintain sex- and disability-disaggregated activity data and report on program indicators • Contribute MHPSS content to internal and external reports and submit activity reports after relevant activities • Support MHPSS minimum data-set development, collection, database work, and analysis • Support EMT coordination centres and emergency response operations during activations, prioritizing MHPSS standards, interventions, monitoring, and evaluation

🎯 Requirements

• Essential terminal/doctoral degree in psychology, psychiatry, or a closely related field • Qualification to practise independently • At least 7 years’ relevant professional experience at national and international level • Experience focused on mental health and emergency response • Experience developing training/adult educational curricula and materials • Experience developing and/or deploying as part of a health emergency response • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering mental-health or health-emergency-response training/education • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills • Proven writing skills in English • Ability to collaborate and coordinate across multiple countries, partners, and contexts • Ability to work in multicultural and multidisciplinary environments • Strong organizational, project-management, shared-calendar, file-management, and document-version-control skills • Strong data-management skills, including Microsoft Excel and sex- and disability-disaggregated data • Strong presentation and public-speaking skills • Knowledge of SGBV identification, survivor-centred safe referral, and emergency SGBV referral-pathway design • Familiarity with DFAT’s International Gender Equality Strategy, International Disability Equity and Rights Strategy, or equivalent frameworks • Ability to work during Manila, Philippines and Suva, Fiji working hours • French language fluency is considered a strong asset • Desirable specialized training/certification in national/international health emergency or disaster response • Desirable specialized training in MHPSS in emergencies • Impeccable integrity and professional ethical standards • Must satisfy WHO vaccination requirements before undertaking the assignment • Consultants work as independent contractors in a personal capacity • WHO does not recruit smokers or users of tobacco
