📋 Description

• Map the product landscape of challenges and opportunities in Open Data, Open Governance, and Open Source in relation to the generative AI ecosystem, especially in the Global Majority context • Produce a written report with landscape mapping and actor analysis in open data and mission-aligned AI training • Analyze key actors, dependencies, concepts, and ongoing processes • Assess relevance to Wikimedia Deutschland for collaboration, product development, and funding opportunities within the Open Data and AI ecosystem • Provide a foundation for strategic decision-making and prioritized funding opportunities for Wikimedia Deutschland leadership • Support Wikimedia in developing a strategic stance on open dataset stewardship and reuse in generative AI

🎯 Requirements

• Experienced freelance researcher • Experience with Open Source, Data, & Governance • Experience with Generative AI Product Landscape • Experience with AI Projects by and for the Global Majority • Experience with diverse worldwide projects and groups • Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality results within the given time frame • English language • Availability for a 1 to 3 month project commitment • Submit a non-binding quote including planned activities, full package budgetary request, start date, weekly availability, predicted project duration, and qualification background
