The company provides SaaS tools and operational logistics to help retailers reduce returns costs, recover revenue through paid returns, live exchanges, refund-to-store-credit, and return-to-store options, while improving customer experience and sustainability reporting.

📋 Description

• Develop a coherent technology strategy aligned with organizational goals and product priorities • Ensure architectural decisions for key product initiatives align with objectives • Manage incidents and ensure service reliability • Set and measure service level objectives • Maintain and evolve recovery plans • Evolve application observability and monitoring • Implement and oversee backend quality assurance and security processes • Oversee and optimize cloud infrastructure and resource allocation during peak periods • Refine CI/CD and code review processes to improve productivity, efficiency, quality, and security • Evaluate switching from a worker-based approach to an event-driven approach • Pair with squad developers on day-to-day product work to share knowledge and practices • Contribute to technology and product initiatives • Troubleshoot unexpected issues affecting business operations • Collaborate with cross-functional business teams to identify and communicate technical constraints • Define and model best practices and standards for backend and infrastructure technical excellence • Drive backend systems and infrastructure development, reliability, and scalability • Help unify ZigZag’s post-purchase and returns products into a seamless offering

🎯 Requirements

• Experienced Senior Staff Engineer in backend and infrastructure • Deep experience in cloud architecture and infrastructure, ideally GCP; Azure or AWS also considered • Very good understanding of Ruby and Ruby on Rails • Expertise managing infrastructure with emphasis on scalability and reliability • Experience calmly addressing incidents of various types and impacts • Fluent in English • Strong French advantageous • High willingness and ability to transmit knowledge • Curious and keeps up to date with industry novelties • Strong background across multiple environments and products, with ability to navigate and optimize complex distributed systems a plus • Must already be living in Portugal • Must have legal right to work in Portugal without visa sponsorship • CV must be submitted in English
