Beschreibung

• Own day-to-day relationships for a portfolio of high-growth startups as each client’s primary HR contact and trusted HR partner • Lead a team of HR Generalists and Philippines-based HR Specialists • Set priorities, delegate work, remove roadblocks, and oversee accurate, timely, and consistent work • Assign client coverage, manage capacity, and review agreements, filings, handbooks, and payroll output • Coach and develop team members, conduct performance conversations, and provide hiring input • Build and improve team processes, templates, and playbooks • Lead recurring client calls and stay informed about client priorities and upcoming needs • Handle escalations and translate HR risk into actionable decisions for founders • Oversee federal, state, and applicable international employment compliance • Manage contract renewals, policy deadlines, filing dates, government reporting, and registrations including EEO-1, ACA, and state registrations • Set standards and provide final approval for employment agreements, offer letters, separation agreements, and policy documents • Oversee employee handbooks, state addenda, and required compliance notices • Oversee workers’ compensation, EPLI, and other employment-related insurance programs • Conduct workplace investigations and prepare defensible documentation • Guide clients through performance management, accommodations, leave, and terminations • Support client managers through difficult conversations

🎯 Anforderungen

• 6+ years in HR operations, compliance, or a senior generalist role • At least 2 years directly managing or reviewing the work of other HR professionals • Client-facing or multi-entity experience — consulting, outsourced HR, PEO, or a multi-entity corporate role • Demonstrated multi-state compliance ownership, including California • Experience conducting workplace investigations and documenting them • Hands-on background across payroll, onboarding, benefits, PEO, and HRIS • Ability to run a client call alone and hold the room when the answer isn't good news • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR • Strong professional judgment and ability to recognize when matters should be escalated or delegated • Experience managing offshore or distributed teams strongly preferred • PHR-CA or California-specific compliance depth strongly preferred • Startup or VC-backed client experience strongly preferred • International employment, EOR, or global contractor exposure strongly preferred • Leave administration depth — FMLA, state leave programs, ADA interactive process — strongly preferred • Bachelor's degree in HR, business, or a related field strongly preferred • Ability to work in the United States, as indicated by the application’s employment eligibility requirements
