• Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field • Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives • Manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts • Build strong customer relationships and solve customer needs to maximize sales performance • Create pre-call plans using SMART objectives and conduct post-call evaluations • Handle objections, concerns, and misunderstandings and gain calls to action to close sales calls • Serve customer needs and build trusted relationships and win-win agreements • Develop and execute call plans to achieve metrics and optimize customer coverage and frequency • Build knowledge of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease, products, clinical information, and sales expertise • Share market intelligence with in-field, brand, and sales management teams • Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition with health providers • Identify, develop, and maintain disease-state experts, speakers, and advocates • Operate within AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies, and applicable laws and regulations • Cover Greenville, Anderson, Greenwood, and Gaffney territories • Travel approximately 25% of the time
• Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or a business-related field preferred, or relevant equivalent industry experience required • In lieu of a bachelor’s degree: at least five years of experience, including three or more years within the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred, and a high school diploma/GED required • Proactively identifies customer style/behavior and adapts selling approach • Ability to develop sales strategies using findings • In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge • Strong business acumen and proficient use of business tools • Strategic and critical thinking capabilities • Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment • Documented success in leadership and support roles of increased responsibility • Valid driver’s license • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test and meet safe driving requirements • Ability to travel adequately to cover the territory, including overnight training events and sales meetings • Proven track record of sales success within respective therapeutic areas preferred • Commercial pharmaceutical industry experience preferred • English language proficiency verbally and in writing • Must satisfy applicable health care industry representative credentialing requirements and be eligible to obtain required credentials • May need to complete background checks, drug screens, immunization/vaccination proof, fingerprinting, and specific state or city licenses
