📋 Description

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll journal entries, general ledger, and bank reconciliations • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes • Ensure accurate accruals and cutoff procedures across departments and entities • Prepare monthly WIP reports and ensure GAAP-compliant revenue recognition • Reconcile WIP to the general ledger and explain variances • Support field leaders in interpreting backlog, under/over billings, and percent completion • Oversee progress billing, milestone billing, service invoicing, and retention tracking • Ensure timely and accurate customer invoicing and accounts receivable follow-up • Monitor revenue recognition based on completed work and contracts • Lead annual budgeting, including labor burden estimates and materials projections • Prepare rolling forecasts and cash flow projections • Analyze actuals versus budget and report variances to leadership • Coordinate year-end reviews or audits with the Corporate Controller • Assist with sales tax, property tax, and use tax filings • Maintain internal controls and safeguard assets • Collaborate with field operations and project managers on financial processes • Partner with HR/payroll on labor tracking, benefits costs, and reconciliations

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field required • CPA preferred • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience • At least 3 years in a controller or senior accounting leadership role • Prior experience in construction, mechanical contracting, HVAC, plumbing, or other skilled trades industry required • Strong understanding of WIP accounting, job costing, and contract billing practices • Proficiency in construction-related accounting software such as Foundation, Viewpoint, Sage 300 CRE, QuickBooks Contractor Edition, or similar ERP systems • Deep knowledge of GAAP, internal controls, and financial statement preparation • Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills • Proficiency with advanced Excel and Google Sheets • Familiarity with ERP/accounting software, job costing and dispatch software, and payroll systems • Ability to sit for prolonged periods • Ability to perform repetitive typing and mouse movements • Ability to tolerate prolonged screen viewing • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
