📋 Description

• Respond to customer inquiries regarding account status via phone, mail, email, and online • Research customer accounts and explain or resolve billing concerns for fully or partially unpaid accounts • Resolve billing and collection discrepancies • Set up recurring payment methods for ongoing services • Prepare adjustments, write-offs, or refunds as necessary • Process payments and resubmit patient statements • Pursue unpaid patient balances and payment obligations when insurance defaults, as permitted • Re-bill insurance companies when appropriate • Comply with FDCPA and HIPAA regulations • Coordinate collection agency communication regarding outsourced invoices • Accurately enter account activity into the billing system • Escalate recurring issues to the lead or department supervisor/manager • Perform other duties as required

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma is required • One year of related experience is required • Customer Service, Collections or Medical experience • Basic skills in Access, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, Visio, Word • English (reading, writing, verbal) • Basic level mathematical proficiency, with a strong ability to understand, interpret and develop spreadsheet data • Ability to comply with FDCPA and HIPAA regulations • Ability to physically perform the essential functions, with reasonable accommodations available • Ability to work remotely while physically residing and working within the United States • Occasional travel as required
