📋 Description

• Translate state-by-state strategy into cross-team initiatives with owners, timelines, and success measures • Manage Senior Directors’ and SVPs’ priorities and allocate attention to high-leverage work • Coordinate cross-functional state strategy meetings • Own tracking and reporting cadence for state-by-state goal progress • Flag activity misalignment with state strategy before it becomes a problem • Build and maintain dashboards and reporting tools for goal progress, relationship health, revenue trends, and execution gaps • Provide internal updates on state portfolio performance, risks, wins, and recommended pivots • Track revenue gaps and growth opportunities within existing state relationships • Maintain cross-functional plans and coordinate execution across sales, product, and policy teams • Track state policy developments affecting ACT’s market position • Lead cross-team working sessions to align priorities, resolve conflicts, and maintain momentum • Escalate and redirect work that conflicts with state strategy • Identify organizational gaps and build solutions with division leads • Foster accountability, transparency, and mission alignment across senior leadership • Develop knowledge of ACT’s target state portfolio and establish foundational state strategy documentation during the first 90 days • Map workflows, identify coordination gaps, improve tracking resources, and build internal stakeholder relationships • Own comprehensive state strategy coordination resources and establish leadership reporting cadence during the first year

🎯 Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in strategy, program/project management, or cross-functional operations in a matrixed organization • Ability to coordinate complex, multi-stakeholder work across teams without direct authority • Strong analytical skills translating data and relationship intelligence into actionable strategy • Experience building and maintaining tracking systems, dashboards, or reporting tools for executive audiences • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills • Ability to manage competing priorities and communicate with diplomacy and directness • Strategic thinking and ability to identify conflicting priorities and missed opportunities • Ability to influence without authority through credibility, clarity, and relationships • Strong accountability orientation and follow-through • Cross-functional experience across sales, product, policy, and operations contexts • Ability to distill complex state portfolio dynamics into decision-ready summaries for senior leadership • Judgment to resolve independently or escalate appropriately • Bachelor’s degree in education policy, public policy, economics, statistics, data science, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience • Experience in K12 education policy, state government relations, or education sales environments is a plus • Experience in a chief of staff or similar role is a plus • Familiarity with state procurement cycles, education agency relationships, or statewide assessment markets is a plus • Background in revenue operations, sales strategy, or account-based planning is a plus • Experience in or alongside a revenue-generating organization is a plus • Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship • Finalists must undergo a criminal background check
