📋 Description

• Perform engineering analysis for drainage design associated with transportation projects • Work on diverse transportation projects for the Department of Transportation and local municipalities throughout Florida and other states • Develop strong working relationships with clients and staff • Maintain high project standards and meet or exceed client expectations • Perform drainage design and production, including calculations and construction plan preparation • Conduct hydraulics and hydrology calculations using appropriate methodologies for transportation facilities • Prepare construction plans using applicable Department of Transportation standards • Identify, communicate, and collaboratively solve systematic problems • Forecast potential issues arising from evolving designs in other disciplines • Apply applicable drainage design policies, methods, practices, and procedures • Assist in designing open and closed collection and conveyance systems • Assist in designing stormwater management facilities meeting water quality and quantity requirements • Collaborate with a large, multi-state transportation team and receive technical and project management support

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline and 4 years of experience as a Drainage Engineer, or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education • Professional Engineer (PE) preferred • Experience in design of drainage conveyance systems and plans prepared in compliance with state DOT standards • Experience in pond design including grading, plan sheet development, hydrology, hydraulics, and control structure design • Experience with Microstation, GEOPAK, OpenRoads, StormCad or equivalent CAD software, HY-8, ICPR, HEC-RAS, and MS Office • Working knowledge of Federal Highway Administration hydraulic circulars preferred • Good communication and teamwork • Must be authorized to work in the United States; sponsorship for US employment authorization is not available now or in the future • Relocation is not available
