📋 Description

• Serve as the senior technical authority and primary escalation point for AHEAD’s Cloud FinOps service • Lead development, design, and implementation of complex enterprise-grade FinOps solutions across AWS, Azure, and GCP • Ensure FinOps services and deliverables meet quality, timing, and contracted service commitments • Develop technical roadmaps, innovation plans, project estimates, risk mitigations, and delivery plans • Lead investigations into cloud spend drivers, billing anomalies, optimization opportunities, and cost visibility gaps • Define and oversee optimization methodologies covering rightsizing, idle resources, storage, data transfer, licensing, scheduling, AI, and GPU spend • Design cost allocation, tagging, showback, chargeback, budgeting, forecasting, unit economics, dashboards, and reporting architectures • Own commitment strategy, including reserved capacity, savings plans, coverage, utilization, renewals, and savings realization • Advise clients on FinOps best practices, governance, operating models, and maturity improvements • Build client relationships, support business growth, and identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities • Present solution designs, recommendations, and innovations to senior leadership and technical, finance, and procurement stakeholders • Lead recurring client advisory and service review meetings • Drive the FinOps practice’s AI and automation roadmap, including anomaly detection, rightsizing, commitment optimization, budgeting, and forecasting • Build and oversee SQL queries, data transformations, and automation using Python, PowerShell, or Bash • Integrate third-party tools, billing data sources, reporting platforms, ITSM tools, and cloud-native services • Oversee remediation activities while following client change-control and permission procedures • Mentor Cloud FinOps Engineers and review team deliverables for technical and financial quality • Develop standards, procedures, data models, playbooks, automation, and reusable practice assets • Coordinate delivery resources across teams without direct personnel-management responsibility • Support pre-sales, solutioning, scoping, positioning, and service maturation • Participate in on-call or escalation rotation and provide occasional after-hours or weekend support • Stay current on cloud pricing, FinOps practices, AI, analytics, and provider roadmaps

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, finance, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience • 10+ years of information technology experience, including 5+ years focused on FinOps, cloud cost management, cloud governance, or related cloud engineering • 5+ years in a customer-facing, stakeholder-facing, consulting, or service delivery role • 2+ years using and administering FinOps and cloud management platforms such as Harness CCM, Cloudability, CloudHealth, CloudZero, native cloud cost management tools, or similar solutions • Experience designing, deploying, or operating large-scale, multi-account, multi-subscription, or enterprise cloud environments • Subject matter expertise in at least one major public cloud provider (AWS, Azure, or GCP) with working depth in a second • Experience leading technical delivery, serving as an escalation point, and reviewing other engineers’ work • Proficiency in SQL and at least one scripting language such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash • Multiple relevant certifications such as FinOps Certified Practitioner, FinOps Certified Professional, AWS Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect, Google Cloud certifications, or similar • Experience integrating third-party tools, billing data sources, and reporting platforms • Strong analytical, financial modeling, spreadsheet, and problem-solving skills • Expert understanding of cloud billing constructs, cloud billing data, usage trends, tagging compliance, and optimization across Azure, AWS, and GCP • Experience with enterprise cloud services across compute, storage, networking, databases, containers, security, and identity • Knowledge of FinOps principles, cloud-native cost optimization, governance frameworks, infrastructure as code, and cloud operating models • Experience with unit economics and connecting infrastructure consumption to business and product metrics • Ability to work through a solution live with a client, including whiteboarding a FinOps approach • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills • Ability to lead independently in complex situations and collaborate across distributed teams and time zones • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States • Ability to successfully complete AHEAD and client-required background screening • Availability during assigned team business hours across United States time zones • Ability to provide occasional after-hours support • Maintain relevant professional and cloud certifications
