• Lead detailed analysis of cloud spend, usage trends, allocation accuracy, anomalies, and optimization opportunities across AWS, Azure, and GCP • Identify, quantify, prioritize, and drive optimization opportunities including rightsizing, idle resource cleanup, storage and data transfer optimization, licensing alignment, and scheduling strategies • Track optimization opportunities and validate financial outcomes without double-counting unrealized savings • Lead cost visibility and allocation for containerized and Kubernetes workloads • Analyze and optimize AI and GPU-related spend • Extend cost analysis to SaaS, software licensing, and marketplace spend • Conduct cloud cost and operational excellence best-practices reviews • Lead cost allocation, tagging governance, mapping logic, reporting accuracy, and non-taggable resource treatment • Define and maintain unit economics and cost-per-unit metrics • Own or lead dashboards, reports, budgets, forecasts, showback and chargeback views, executive summaries, and recurring service review content • Lead billing data validation and reconciliation, including work toward FOCUS-standardized formats • Implement continuous tagging governance with policy enforcement and automated remediation • Maintain client-facing FinOps tooling and portals • Manage commitment portfolios, reserved capacity, savings plan modeling, purchase recommendations, renewals, and savings realization • Support enterprise agreement, private pricing, and committed-spend discussions • Present financially grounded recommendations to technical, business, finance, procurement, and executive stakeholders • Communicate with external customers and help client leadership set strategic direction • Translate customer business requirements into technical and financial requirements and lead complex deliverables • Partner with CloudOps, DevOps, platform, application, finance, procurement, and client stakeholders • Maintain tickets, documentation, meeting follow-ups, and communications • Facilitate recurring client advisory calls • Build queries, data transformations, and automation using SQL and Python or PowerShell • Integrate third-party tools, billing sources, and reporting platforms • Estimate, prioritize, and complete work independently within committed timelines • Provide technical leadership and coordinate technical delivery resources without direct personnel-management responsibility • Execute approved remediation activities through client workflows and change-control procedures • Monitor delivery hours and coordinate approved overages or rescoping • Mentor Cloud FinOps Engineers and contribute to standards, playbooks, reusable assets, and continuous improvement • Represent the practice through thought leadership, workshops, conferences, and webinars • Support pre-sales, solutioning, scoping, positioning, and service maturation • Deliver FinOps and tooling education to client teams • Provide occasional after-hours or weekend support for incidents, deadlines, change windows, and urgent cost-related issues • Maintain current cloud and professional certifications and meet individual goals
• Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, finance, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience • 5+ years of combined experience in cloud engineering, cloud operations, infrastructure, or cloud cost management, including at least 3 years focused on cloud financial management, cost optimization, or FinOps • 3+ years in a customer-facing, stakeholder-facing, consulting, or service delivery role • Hands-on experience designing, deploying, or operating large-scale, multi-account, multi-subscription, or enterprise cloud environments • Subject matter expertise in at least one major public cloud provider: AWS, Azure, or GCP • Working proficiency in SQL and at least one scripting language such as Python or PowerShell • Experience using cloud cost management, billing analysis, or reporting platforms • Demonstrated experience integrating third-party tools, billing data sources, and reporting platforms • Strong analytical, spreadsheet, and problem-solving skills • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States • Ability to successfully complete AHEAD and client-required background screening • Availability during assigned team standard business hours, with flexibility for United States time zones • Ability to participate in on-call or escalation rotation where applicable • Relevant professional and cloud certifications consistent with role, practice, and individual development requirements • Preferred: managed services, consulting, or outsourced service delivery experience • Preferred: multi-cloud FinOps or cost optimization experience • Preferred: FinOps Certified Practitioner, FinOps Certified Professional, AWS, Azure, or GCP certifications • Preferred: Harness CCM, Apptio Cloudability, CloudZero, Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Python, or PowerShell experience • Preferred: forecasting, budgeting, allocation, showback, chargeback, commitment planning, and savings realization experience • Preferred: FinOps Framework, FOCUS, Kubernetes/container cost allocation, AI/GPU cost management, mentoring, ticketing platforms, and pre-sales experience
