📋 Description

• Own the demand-side merchandising strategy on top of ranking, including placement, sequencing, and surfacing logic • Push for dynamic, context-aware ranking based on day of week, availability, trends, market, and traveler type • Prioritize discoverability experiments and translate results into decisions • Serve as the senior demand counterpart to Product and Engineering on matching, personalization, and ranking • Clarify merchandising, supply, and product ownership and drive alignment • Maintain the product-to-operations conversation during periods of reduced Product coverage • Build dashboards and measurement for discoverability, spotlights, and placement performance • Close analytics and tooling gaps to accelerate learning and iteration • Provide a data-driven view of merchandising investment returns • Report to the Director of Business Growth for Experiences and collaborate with the SEM/SEO/Display lead

🎯 Requirements

• 12+ years in business operations, product operations, or strategy, ideally at a marketplace or consumer platform • Strong analytical foundation; comfort working with data, building measurement, and turning insight into operating decisions • Proven experience partnering with Product and Engineering on ranking, search, personalization, or merchandising • Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive alignment across senior stakeholders with competing mandates • Clear communication and ability to influence a technical roadmap at a senior level without owning it directly • Must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity • SQL or equivalent hands-on analytics capability (nice to have) • Background in search/ranking, recommendations, or merchandising systems (nice to have)
