📋 Description

• Build systems powering Airbnb content management, including advanced authoring, content workflows, content-quality analytics, compliance auditing, and AI-assisted writer experiences • Own major projects end to end across the software development lifecycle, including breaking down work, planning, and leading a small engineering pod when needed • Partner with content, product, and engineering teams to improve authoring workflows and translate them into technical requirements • Deliver reporting, product integrations, and AI-assisted authoring and editing capabilities • Share technical ownership of Contentstack, extending it with custom UI extensions and React authoring apps following Airbnb’s Design Language System • Build integrations for structured taxonomy and knowledge graph capabilities across support and knowledge surfaces • Improve content organization, security, and discoverability using taxonomies, controlled vocabularies, and metadata standards • Design for reliability, security, maintainability, and observability; identify failure modes, participate in incident response, and implement corrective actions • Improve or deprecate low-quality code, services, and frameworks and contribute to technical design and code reviews • Document technical solutions, analyze data, form hypotheses, experiment, and iterate • Coach and mentor engineers, support onboarding, provide feedback, and contribute to interviewing and Airbnb’s technical community • Direct AI agents to explore systems, prototype solutions, generate and review code, and validate changes while maintaining accountability for correctness and quality

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years designing and implementing complex systems end to end in integrated enterprise environments • Proven experience building and maintaining custom author-facing tools, workflows, automations, and integrations in an enterprise headless CMS; Contentstack preferred • Track record of owning delivery on projects spanning multiple workstreams, including loosely defined work • Depth in front-end and back-end development, preferably with TypeScript, React, and Node.js • Strong working knowledge of large-scale content data analysis, bulk updates, and reporting, including efficient processing of large data volumes • Ability to build and operate high-performance, scalable, fault-tolerant internal tooling and design for failure modes and operational requirements • Fluency with agentic development workflows and directing AI agents to explore, prototype, implement, and review • Clear technical writing and design documentation covering benefits, risks, and tradeoffs • Experience mentoring engineers and giving actionable feedback • Comfort navigating ambiguity and shaping problem definitions • Ability to drive alignment, manage projects, and collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders • Experience with structured data in enterprise taxonomy or knowledge graph platforms preferred • Familiarity with architectural patterns of large-scale web applications, well-designed APIs, high-volume data pipelines, and efficient algorithms preferred • Experience with Tableau or Grafana preferred • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or a related field preferred • Must live in a state where Airbnb, Inc. has a registered entity
