📋 Description

• Support Billing and Collections staff • Assist leadership in assuring confidentiality is maintained and HIPAA compliance is adhered to • Submit and follow up on authorization requests and appeals with insurance companies via fax, phone, or online • Request hospital records in a timely manner and follow up until received • Submit or mail appeal letters, claims, and correspondence to insurance companies with appropriate documentation • Document completed accounts for tracking purposes • Review and distribute incoming faxes, mail, and emails to appropriate staff and link them to accounts in the electronic records program • Contact insurance companies to confirm claim status when needed due to payor issues or time-sensitive matters • Review and complete rebills when needed • Assist with training new hires, continuous training, and cross-functional efforts • Perform other duties as assigned • Maintain regular scheduled attendance • Travel 0% • No supervisory responsibilities

🎯 Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience • Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented, ability to prioritize, multi-task and meet deadlines • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Dependable and self-motivated • Ability to be a team player with a professional attitude • Intermediate with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook • Regular scheduled attendance • Must maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA compliance • No certificates, licenses, or registrations required
