📋 Description

• Lead the day-to-day execution of Short-Term Disability, absence claim, and leave operations • Develop market-centered strategies and business plans delivering scalable operational capabilities and processes • Serve as Claims lead for teams supporting Leave of Absence, Short-Term Disability, ADA accommodations, and/or Long-Term Disability • Engage rehabilitation or clinical services where applicable • Develop and recommend claim-management and service-level strategies and tactics • Partner across the organization and with external parties to identify operational gaps and address them • Assess business and technology partners and integrate products and capabilities across platforms • Improve quality, efficiency, productivity, and service delivery • Partner with peers and senior leadership to execute operational priorities and achieve service excellence • Establish and maintain measures of success meeting or exceeding market expectations and operational needs • Develop and inspire the Claims team by communicating business updates and aligning objectives with organizational goals • Execute the performance management cycle through metrics, measurement systems, and accountability • Promote continuous growth, learning, and improvement through actionable developmental feedback • Foster openness, trust, inclusion, strategic thinking, and constructive challenge • Ensure regulatory compliance and internal control systems are maintained

🎯 Requirements

• Expert knowledge of Short-Term Disability and Absence products, claim operations, and industry claim practices • Ability to create and communicate a clear vision, mission, and operational strategy aligned with broader business goals • 5+ years’ experience leading complex claim, disability, absence, leave, ADA, rehabilitation, and/or clinical service delivery operations • Ability to translate business strategy into executable operating plans, performance measures, and results • Advanced strategic and critical-thinking skills, including anticipating trends, evaluating risk, and making sound operational decisions • 5+ years’ experience leading through Managers and developing large, high-performing teams • Success improving claim quality, productivity, compliance, service delivery, and return-to-work outcomes • Experience managing departmental budgets and planning for responsible growth • Ability to evaluate business and technology partners and integrate operational capabilities across platforms • Commitment to maintaining regulatory compliance, internal controls, and a strong risk-management environment • Dynamic business and financial acumen, analytical capability, executive communication skills, and change leadership • Ability to build trusted cross-functional partnerships and influence peers and senior leaders toward shared operational outcomes • Applicants must have work authorization in the United States that does not now or in the future require visa sponsorship • Successful completion of a background check and any position-required screenings • Virtual interviews must be conducted on video; occasional travel to a physical office location may be required
