📋 Description

• Manage all aspects of insurance defense litigation from case inception to verdict • Conduct initial case assessment, discovery, depositions, motion practice, pre-trial negotiations, courtroom advocacy, and post-trial motions • Gather and organize documents, evidence, and legal research for hearings, trials, arbitrations, mediations, and depositions • Conduct legal research on laws, regulations, and case precedents; prepare summaries and reports • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents • Interview clients and witnesses; draft statement summaries and maintain communication records • Attend court hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings; represent the company or clients in routine matters as needed • Monitor changes in laws and regulations and update the legal team on potential impacts • Provide counsel to business clients and coordinate between legal teams • Participate in training sessions and mentorship programs

🎯 Requirements

• Juris Doctorate • Active membership in good standing with the Texas State Bar • Successful candidates will obtain Southern District of Texas federal licensure as soon as practical • Best suited for individuals early in their professional journey eager to develop courtroom and litigation experience • Successful completion of courses focused on legal research, writing, and analysis • Ability to conduct thorough legal research and draft clear, well-structured legal documents • Strong time management skills for balancing multiple tasks and deadlines • Ability to organize case files, manage legal documents, and understand the discovery process • Skill in communicating with clients, preparing summaries, and maintaining records of interactions • Knowledge of legal ethics and standards of professional conduct • Fundamental negotiation techniques and strategies for client interactions and settlement discussions • Must be commutable distance to courthouses throughout the greater Houston, Texas area • Must submit to a background investigation • Must have reliable internet with minimum speeds of 50 MB download and 5 MB upload • Must have a dedicated, private home workspace free from distractions, with appropriate desk and seating • Allstate generally does not sponsor individuals for employment-based visas for this position
