📋 Description

• Own the end-to-end accounting function for the company's crypto and tokenization-related activities, including month-end and quarter-end close processes, reconciliation review, journal entry reviews, and financial reporting. • Develop, maintain, and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and controls related to cryptocurrency transactions, digital assets, and associated business activities. • Partner with crypto business leadership to understand new products, transaction flows, and business developments, ensuring appropriate accounting treatment and financial reporting. • Oversee accounting for crypto-related transactions, including digital asset holdings, transfers, fees, settlements, and other relevant activities. • Coordinate with Finance, Legal, Compliance, and other stakeholders to support regulatory reporting requirements applicable to the crypto business. • Drive process improvements, automation, and scalable accounting solutions to support growth in crypto transaction volumes and business complexity. • Serve as the primary accounting point of contact for crypto-related initiatives, providing guidance on accounting implications and operational considerations. • Lead and manage the external financial statement audit process for the crypto business and serve as primary liaison with external auditors. • Coordinate audit planning, supporting schedules, documentation, accounting questions, and audit deliverables. • Address audit findings, strengthen accounting processes, and implement remediation measures. • Support regulatory examinations, inquiries, and reporting requirements related to the crypto business with Legal and Compliance. • Maintain audit-ready documentation and effective internal controls. • Research and evaluate complex or nonroutine transactions under US GAAP. • Prepare technical accounting memoranda documenting accounting conclusions, relevant guidance, and financial statement implications. • Evaluate accounting impacts of new products, strategic initiatives, contracts, and unique business arrangements. • Support assessments involving revenue recognition, equity transactions, investments, business combinations, digital assets, and emerging accounting matters. • Monitor accounting standards and regulatory developments and support implementation of new requirements. • Collaborate with external advisors and auditors to resolve technical accounting matters and ensure consistent accounting policy application.

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA strongly preferred. • 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in public accounting and/or a complex corporate accounting environment. • Strong understanding of US GAAP, technical accounting research, and financial reporting requirements. • Experience managing month-end close processes, preparing financial statements, and coordinating external audits. • Experience with cryptocurrency, digital assets, financial services, fintech, or similarly complex transaction environments. • Demonstrated ability to independently research, analyze, and document complex accounting matters. • Experience designing, implementing, or improving accounting processes and internal controls. • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and work across multiple teams. • Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex accounting topics into clear, actionable guidance for non-accounting stakeholders. • Comfortable working both strategically and hands-on in a dynamic, high-growth environment. • CPA with a combination of Big Four or national public accounting firm experience and industry experience preferred. • Direct experience with cryptocurrency accounting, including digital asset transactions, reconciliations, custody arrangements, and related reporting requirements preferred. • Experience supporting regulated financial services or crypto-related entities preferred. • Experience leading financial statement audits and working directly with external auditors on complex accounting matters preferred. • Familiarity with SOC 1 and/or SOC 2 readiness, internal control frameworks, and audit evidence requirements preferred. • Experience implementing accounting automation, improving financial systems, or scaling accounting operations preferred. • Experience partnering with senior leadership on new products, business initiatives, or complex commercial arrangements preferred.
