📋 Description

• Own day-to-day portfolio accounting and the general ledger • Record transactions, perform account reconciliations, and review journal entries with full sign-off authority • Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close • Prepare and/or review portfolio-level financial statements and reporting • Apply and maintain tax equity and partnership accounting for partnership-flip, inverted-lease, and pass-through structures • Manage ITC allocation, basis adjustments, fund waterfalls, and cash-sweep mechanics • Own the HLBV methodology, including quarterly model building, maintenance, review, and income/loss allocation • Analyze LLC agreements, partnership agreements, and tax equity documents and translate terms into model logic and accounting conclusions • Evaluate tax equity transactions from inception through unwind, including consolidation/VIE assessments, buyouts, and amendments • Maintain model controls and audit-ready documentation • Account for asset-backed securitization debt under ASC 860, including sale-vs.-secured-borrowing analysis and covenant calculations • Apply lease and revenue accounting under ASC 842 and ASC 606 • Establish and document US GAAP processes for new or evolving deal structures • Develop audit-ready technical memos in partnership with the Technical Accounting group • Liaise with external auditors, asset management, and service providers • Coordinate with Treasury, Accounts Payable, Asset Management, Legal, and Tax • Present financial analyses to senior management • Hire, manage, mentor, and evaluate accounting staff supporting the portfolio

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting • CPA credential required, active and in good standing • 8+ years in financial accounting or auditing, including at least 3+ years at manager level or above • Direct financial reporting experience, including preparation and/or review of financial statements • General ledger ownership and hands-on month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close experience • Deep working knowledge of renewable energy tax equity accounting and HLBV • Experience with partnership flips, ITC allocation, HLBV-driven non-controlling interest, and fund-level waterfalls • Experience reading and analyzing LLC agreements and tax equity partnership documents • Experience building, maintaining, and reviewing HLBV models • Working knowledge of partnership flip, inverted lease, sale-leaseback, and tax-credit transferability structures • Knowledge of ASC 810, ASC 323, ASC 740, and noncontrolling interest classification • Experience with asset-backed securitization accounting, ASC 860 sale-vs.-secured-borrowing analysis, ABS debt, and covenant calculations • Portfolio- or entity-level accounting experience with full ownership and sign-off authority • Proven people-management experience, including hiring, performance management, and staff development • Ability to operate independently with minimal oversight across multiple deal structures • Consistently high ethical standards • Ability to define and set accounting processes and policy for new portfolios or deal types • Strong research skills in ASC accounting literature • Ability to produce audit-ready technical memos • Ability to present technical accounting positions and portfolio financial results to senior leadership and external auditors • Preferred: hands-on HLBV accounting in renewable energy tax equity • Preferred: experience interpreting complex LLC agreements and drafting accounting memos and HLBV model designs • Preferred: experience with tax equity unwinds, buyouts, restructurings, ITC transferability, and tax credit monetization • Preferred: Excel-based financial modeling for HLBV, waterfalls, and partnership allocation analysis • Preferred: experience in residential solar, C&I solar, distributed energy, battery storage, or other renewable portfolios • Preferred: ASC 842 lessor accounting experience • Preferred: experience with Microsoft Dynamics, Xero, Ramp, NetSuite, or BluePoint • Preferred: consolidation preparation experience • Preferred: interest in leveraging AI for accounting workflows • Preferred: verifiable reference from a single engagement or role of 6+ months
