⢠Lead the annual and quarterly strategic planning process for a portfolio of internal clients ⢠Translate approved business objectives into marketing strategies, programs, and campaigns ⢠Develop ground-up marketing strategies for Tier 1 initiatives and ministry program and product launches ⢠Build audience acquisition, messaging, channel, and engagement strategies ⢠Formalize strategies through strategy and creative briefs for internal teams and external agency partners ⢠Synthesize partner needs, market trends, and audience insights to identify strategic patterns and opportunities ⢠Evaluate audience data, market intelligence, and research sufficiency; identify gaps and escalate organizational needs ⢠Manage portfolio budget allocation between in-house execution and external vendors ⢠Help develop planning frameworks, brief standards, and quality criteria for the marketing strategy function ⢠Develop program- and project-level strategy and creative briefs defining audiences, messaging, channels, and success metrics ⢠Ensure strategic quality of portfolio deliverables before Senior Director review ⢠Present and defend strategy and creative work to internal partners and secure approval ⢠Direct and quality-control execution across internal teams and external agency partners ⢠Serve as strategic partner to ministry program leads, owning relationships and resolving conflicts ⢠Monitor partner satisfaction and escalate systemic issues to the Senior Director ⢠Develop growth recommendations, including new fundraising opportunities, channels, and audiences ⢠Manage communication around high-impact program changes ⢠Manage assigned Marketing Strategists through coaching, oversight, 1:1s, and performance appraisals ⢠Identify skill gaps and development opportunities, support onboarding, and build team bench strength ⢠Monitor team capacity and balance workloads while maintaining strategic quality ⢠Assume related responsibilities, including partner-facing Program Management, as department needs require
⢠Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field required; master's degree preferred ⢠15+ years of experience in marketing strategy, product marketing, account management, or brand strategy within an external or in-house agency environment ⢠Agency experience strongly preferred ⢠Nonprofit marketing experience preferred ⢠Fundraising campaign experience a plus ⢠Experience with marketing analytics platforms, CRM systems, project management tools, and Strategy and Creative Brief development frameworks ⢠Demonstrated experience managing marketing budgets and directing internal teams and external agency partners ⢠Proven people management experience ⢠Personal commitment to Jesus Christ ⢠Identification with and participation in a Christian church, with commitment to growing in Christian faith ⢠Active participation in organizational prayer, devotional times, and organization-wide events ⢠Exemplary Christian ethics, behavior, and conduct; adherence to ABS Standards of Conduct and Affirmation of Biblical Community ⢠Christian maturity and incorporation of faith into daily work ⢠Desire and ability to support organizational biblical and religious goals and participate in regular work-related spiritual activities ⢠Passion for and belief in the Word of God and alignment with American Bible Society's vision, mission, and values ⢠Advanced ability to develop and present comprehensive marketing strategies, Creative Briefs, and campaign rationale ⢠Proven ability to direct internal teams and external agency partners toward unified marketing outcomes ⢠Respect and understanding of diverse audiences and perspectives ⢠Ability to understand internal partner objectives and develop mission-advancing marketing strategies ⢠Ability to adapt strategies to partner needs, market conditions, and organizational priorities ⢠Ability to manage multiple partner relationships and concurrent strategic initiatives ⢠Proactive strategic problem-solving ability ⢠Strategic leadership and accountability for agency-caliber quality ⢠Ability to make budget allocation and resource decisions across internal and external delivery models ⢠Ability to coach, provide feedback, and develop direct reports ⢠Ability to evaluate marketing approaches, audience engagement strategies, and creative frameworks ⢠Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer ⢠Ability to lift up to 10 pounds occasionally ⢠Ability to travel occasionally ⢠Candidates must pass a background check ⢠Satisfactory reference checks required ⢠Proof of eligibility to work in the United States ⢠Must sign and agree to uphold the ABS Affirmation of Biblical Community
