📋 Description

• Establish standard patient billing and collections processes for the region • Serve as subject matter expert on billing and collections matters • Support, update, and advise internal and external customers on billing and collections issues • Recommend and implement billing and collections process improvements; monitor and measure progress • Monitor federal, state, and local rules, regulations, and laws affecting patient billing and collections • Develop and implement policies and procedures for timely billing and collections • Train ambulatory surgery centers on business office policies and procedures • Perform annual assessments of business office policies and processes • Assess billing system performance • Identify, train, and implement preferred billing systems at centers • Assist with HIPAA, compliance, licensure, and chart audits • Assist ASCs with required quarterly and annual statistical reports and forms • Monitor claims for compliance with Medicare rules and regulations • Remediate results of periodic chart audits • Assist with HIPAA audits • Evaluate billing and collection systems for potential acquisitions and provide written findings and recommendations • Remain alert to new business opportunities • Perform additional duties as assigned • Travel a minimum of 50%

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience • Minimum of 5 years of healthcare billing experience • Knowledge of ambulatory surgery center operations preferred • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages • Ability to understand, read, write, and speak English • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations • Ability to write business correspondence successfully • Ability to present information effectively and respond to questions • Ability to interact professionally with managers, employees, clients, vendors, and the public • Ability to recognize and define problems, collect data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and correct errors • Ability to understand and interpret basic financial data • Ability to interpret varied instructions and handle abstract and concrete variables • Ability to manage multiple simultaneous tasks effectively and efficiently • Strong verbal and written communication skills • Detail-oriented and organized • High integrity and ability to maintain confidential information • Good judgment and ability to positively influence and lead others • Ability to handle confrontations with poise and efficiency • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends, based on business need • Minimum 50% travel
