📋 Description

• Plan, write, and edit content for internal and external audiences to keep SCPO leadership and stakeholders informed of program developments, initiatives, and updates • Draft executive correspondence, briefings, talking points, and scripts for SCPO leadership • Develop communication plans and strategies supporting program milestones, events, and cross-team initiatives • Research, write, and edit newsletters, fact sheets, FAQs, reports, and web content • Ensure content aligns with VA documentation standards, plain language requirements, and Section 508 accessibility standards • Gather, analyze, and compose technical information for user manuals, training materials, installation and administrator guides, proposals, reports, and other program deliverables • Edit functional descriptions, system specifications, SOPs, and other technical documents for accuracy, consistency, and appropriate technical or healthcare terminology • Translate complex technical and clinical information into clear, readable content for technical and non-technical SCPO stakeholders

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, English, Journalism, Technical Writing, or related field • 4+ years of experience in communications, technical writing, or editing • Experience preferably supporting federal or healthcare programs in communications plans and strategies • Experience writing and editing reports, newsletters, briefings, fact sheets, training materials, user manuals, and guidebooks • Strong experience with computer-based systems and Microsoft Office Suite • Capable self-starter with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple concurrent writing and editing assignments • Experience supporting VA/VHA and/or other federal health agencies desired • Experience translating complex technical, clinical, or regulatory information into clear, plain-language content desired • Familiarity with VA documentation, branding, plain language, and Section 508 accessibility standards desired
