📋 Description

• Oversee company revenue recognition as the ASC 606 subject matter expert, including high-level review, revenue and variance reporting, and contract closeout true-ups • Review complex multi-element customer contracts and document appropriate revenue recognition • Evaluate and document revenue recognition procedures for fixed-price contracts, online products, software, and commercial sales • Provide accounting support for internal and external audit inquiries • Transition financial statement and management reporting from Excel workbooks to ERP-generated reporting • Develop and validate dashboard reports • Support deployment of financial statement projections using enterprise tools • Support month-end and year-end close processes • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, accruals, and financial disclosures • Evaluate the impact of new accounting standards and support proper reporting • Identify process bottlenecks and build standardized accounting processes • Evaluate AI tools to automate manual accounting workflows • Partner with leadership on daily operational accounting • Maintain internal controls and process documentation • Support external financial, internal, and government/customer audits • Collaborate with auditors, resolve inquiries, and strengthen audit readiness • Support system upgrade testing, enhancements, and business system evaluation or migration • Partner with IT and functional SMEs to improve workflows, resolve system issues, and drive process automation

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field • 5–7 years of experience in accounting or auditing • Alternatively, 3–5 years of related experience with a master’s degree • Experience preparing financial statements using ERP data and reports • Exceptional customer service and communication abilities across all organizational levels • Ability to analyze problems, recommend solutions, and maintain compliance with internal and external requirements • Experience conducting or supporting auditors and preparing audit-ready documentation • Professional, reliable, proactive, and committed to continuous learning and improvement • Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under strict deadlines • Active CPA or CMA license or passed exam sections preferred • Experience in manufacturing, product sales, or inventory cost accounting preferred • Experience with large ERP systems such as Costpoint, Workday, or Oracle preferred • System implementation or migration experience preferred • Familiarity with AI tools and automation in financial workflows preferred • Prior exposure to government contracting, including FAR/CAS/DCAA, preferred • Working knowledge of corporate financial planning, reporting and analysis, and costing/profitability methodologies preferred
