📋 Description

• Manage the ASCP Meeting Services Department and centralized planning of Society meetings • Manage departmental and meeting-services programming budgets • Develop and enhance event production processes and schedules • Manage and monitor fiscal and financial operations of assigned events • Monitor and enhance meeting quality control • Serve as project manager and lead event production for Annual Meetings, KnowledgeLab, Leadership Forum, Board and Committee Meetings, Education Courses, and other meetings • Contract with third-party vendors for audiovisual, transportation, catering, entertainment, decorating, staffing, and housing • Manage RFP processes and negotiate and finalize hotel and convention-center contracts • Develop and update the ASCP hotel contract template • Review production schedules and monitor staff fulfillment of assigned tasks • Communicate and assist with the objectives of Senior Staff and volunteer leadership

🎯 Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in business management or equivalent on-the-job experience is required • Certification in meeting management (CMP, CMM or CEM), or association management (CAE), is preferable • Significant experience working with volunteer leadership (boards, committees) is necessary • 5-7 years of experience in management of meetings and conventions, with a focus on departmental or matrix management, is required • Experience in event management, including staging, food & beverage, travel/transportation, hotel/facility contract negotiation, and vendor selection/negotiation is necessary • Knowledge and experience in budget planning and financial management is required • Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office applications and related database programs is preferred • Ability to do minor lifting and material movement is required • Ability to consistently move throughout a facility before and throughout meetings is required
