📋 Description

• Develop, design, and validate structural and fluid dynamics models for small modular reactors and nuclear fuel cycle facility projects • Perform structural analysis and steady-state and transient computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations of single- and multiphase flow • Verify safety and performance requirements for small modular reactors • Evaluate CFD simulations and coupled fluid-structure interaction (FSI) analyses to assess structural integrity of critical reactor systems • Upskill early-career engineers and mentor engineers at multiple experience levels on CFD modeling and troubleshooting • Prepare, check, and/or approve CFD and mechanical structural analysis calculations • Ensure design deliverables meet relevant standards, regulations, customer-specific standards, and nuclear quality assurance standards • Produce technically accurate, grammatically correct, correctly formatted, and professionally presented documentation • Develop resolutions to technical issues and implement necessary change control • Perform other duties as assigned

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering • Minimum of ten years post-baccalaureate experience • Engineering support to nuclear facility design, construction or operations • Strong communication skills in a challenging, multi-tiered environment • Strong organizational skills • Knowledge of key NRC regulations, design codes and standards for commercial nuclear facilities • Expert user of related design software codes, including ANSYS FLUENT/CFX and GOTHIC • Must be a U.S. citizen in order to be considered • Design for Commercial and Department of Energy nuclear reactor projects preferred • Design for Commercial and Department of Energy nuclear fuel cycle facilities preferred • Nuclear Steam Supply System (NSSS) Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) experience preferred
