📋 Description

• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting close processes • Direct day-to-day administration of the accounting close process and meet reporting deadlines • Prepare and review financial statements and supporting schedules for senior leadership • Review balance sheet reconciliations, general ledger account analyses, variance analyses, and intercompany settlements • Analyze financial statements for care centers and departments, investigate variances, and recommend corrective accounting entries • Oversee cash management, liquidity monitoring, and company account funding • Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Payroll, and shared services teams to support closing activities • Oversee revenue recognition processes and related analyses • Prepare and review complex accounting analyses related to revenue, malpractice reserves, and other critical accounting areas • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies • Maintain and strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and procedures • Support internal and external audits, including schedules, documentation, and management responses • Manage acquisition accounting for newly acquired practices, including accounting process transitions, working capital cutoffs, and opening balance sheets • Support integration of acquired practices into Axia's accounting and financial reporting environment • Serve as a key administrator for general ledger and accounting systems • Identify and implement process improvements, standardization, and automation opportunities • Partner with Finance, Operations, Revenue Cycle, IT, Payroll, and other departments to resolve accounting issues • Provide financial analysis and reporting support to leadership and operational stakeholders • Assist with special projects, strategic initiatives, and ad hoc analyses assigned by the Assistant Controller or Controller • Lead and develop accounting staff

🎯 Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required • Minimum of 7 years of progressive accounting experience in public accounting, corporate accounting, or a combination thereof • Prior experience leading and developing accounting staff required • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, complex formulas, data analysis, and financial reporting • Strong understanding of general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial statement preparation • Experience leveraging ERP and accounting systems to support reporting, controls, and process improvements • Strong knowledge of ERP and accounting systems required • Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP and its practical application • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment • Strong organizational and project management skills • Effective verbal and written communication skills • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills • High degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and professional judgment • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis • CPA preferred • MBA or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus • Public accounting experience preferred; Big Four experience is a plus • Experience within a multi-site healthcare organization preferred • Experience supporting acquisitions, integrations, or multi-entity accounting environments preferred • Experience supporting external audits and preparing audit documentation preferred • Microsoft Dynamics GP (Great Plains) experience preferred • Education listed as 'Bachelors or better in Accounting or related field' • Posted qualifications section lists 5 years of progressive accounting experience including general ledger, account reconciliations, and month-end close
