📋 Description

• Provide on-site support to Waters customers • Install and service diagnostic instrumentation • Provide after-hours phone support and holiday/weekend on-site support • Support marketing, exhibitions, and clinical trials • Travel daily to multiple customer sites • Troubleshoot and repair lasers/optical pathways, fluidic, pneumatic, electronic, and PC systems onsite • Install, repair, maintain, and service instrumentation with minimal supervision • Adhere to documented procedures, ISO standards, and GMP requirements • Maintain inventory of car stock, test equipment, tools, and technical resources • Communicate arrival times, work duration, and contact information to customers • Deliver comprehensive work summaries covering issues, root causes, solutions, and qualification testing • Obtain customer sign-off before leaving job sites • Escalate customer and instrument issues to District Technical Specialists and Service Managers • Represent the organization professionally and ethically in the field • Manage travel expenses and company assets, including vehicles, credit cards, spare parts, test equipment, and electronic devices

🎯 Requirements

• High School diploma required • Minimum of 3 years' experience troubleshooting systems, instruments, or components • Valid Driver's License • Ability to travel at least 50% of the time, including safely driving up to 8+ hours in varied weather • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs from floor to chest level • Ability to carry a pack up to 30 lbs for up to 1 hour • Ability to safely climb portable ladders and step stools • Proficiency operating DVMs, power meters, oscilloscopes, microscopes, pressure gauges, and vacuum gauges • Ability to work safely around lasers, optics, fluidics, electronics, high voltage equipment, and biohazards • Ability to operate powered and manual tools repeatedly during an 8–10 hour workday • Ability to perform fine motor tasks • Ability to sit, kneel, squat, bend, and stand repeatedly for up to 8–10 hours • Ability to wear required PPE, including safety glasses, goggles, gloves, respirator, and bunny suit, for extended periods • Ability to complete required fit tests, spirometry, and medical evaluations • Preferred: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Engineering, or a related technical/biological discipline • Preferred: Technical military training with hands-on troubleshooting experience • Preferred: Prior Field Service Engineer experience, particularly with medical device instruments • Preferred: Flow Cytometry experience • Preferred: Customer-facing experience • Preferred: Experience with digital volt meters and oscilloscopes • Preferred: Proficiency in MS Office, including Word and Excel • Preferred: Familiarity with recent Mac and PC operating systems
