📋 Description

• Work directly with external partners to understand technical use cases, guide API and dataset integrations, and develop integrated solutions using Beacon’s data platform • Collaborate with Datastore engineers, product managers, and scientific teams to translate partner needs into data models, application features, and integration tooling • Deploy and extend Beacon’s data platform in real-world partner environments • Write production application and integration code against a PostgreSQL-backed GraphQL API • Ship features, tooling, and proof-of-concept integrations on Beacon’s or potentially a partner’s platform • Lead technical conversations with partner engineers and data teams • Support API integrations, data access patterns, adoption, and downstream analytics • Develop internal tools, services, and queries to improve observability, troubleshooting, and resolution of client data issues • Improve documentation, APIs, data models, and operational processes using partner and stakeholder feedback • Debug production data issues end to end through logs, pipelines, and databases to identify root causes and fixes

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in backend software engineering, data engineering, or data platform engineering, including hands-on application development • 3+ years in a customer-facing technical role delivering solutions directly to external partners or clients • Strong proficiency in SQL with production PostgreSQL experience • Ability to write and tune queries by hand and reason about schema design, indexes, and query plans • Hands-on experience designing and maintaining operational data models • Experience solving data-related problems with customers or external stakeholders, including requirements gathering, solution design, and delivery • Experience across the stack with data querying and modeling plus application and integration code development • Proficiency in Python and/or Julia • Experience building and consuming APIs, especially GraphQL • Familiarity with REST, batch exports, ELT/ETL, and event sourcing integration patterns • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or regulated data environments is nice to have • Experience with Snowflake and Superset is nice to have
