📋 Description

• Report to the VP, FP&A and help create a new program finance function • Lead financial oversight for BlackSky’s customer-facing and internal technical programs • Lead development of initial program budgets and reliable Estimates at Completion (EACs) forecasts • Support annual corporate operational planning with staffing guidance and risk and opportunity analyses • Conduct monthly and quarterly budget-versus-forecast-versus-actual variance analyses and recommend corrective actions • Monitor revenue recognition, track client billing, and optimize use of funds across program deliverables • Build and maintain financial models for program profitability, portfolio performance, capital expenditures, and cash flows • Advise Program Managers on translating operational goals into fiscal targets • Liaise between FP&A, Program Management, Operations, and People on budget management, resource acquisition, and staffing recommendations • Coach staff analysts and prioritize tasks to optimize team performance • Prepare and present financial dashboards and narrative memos for leadership and stakeholders • Maintain internal financial controls and ensure expenditures follow the Fiscal Authority Matrix, GAAP, and contractual guidelines

🎯 Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, business management, or related field • A minimum of 8 years of financial management or program/project finance experience in a professional services and/or government contracting environment • Strong business acumen with top-notch verbal and written communication skills • Ability to build professional rapport with colleagues and external partners • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel modeling • Familiarity with data query/data visualization tools such as Cognos, SQL, Tableau, or Power BI • Track record of identifying automation opportunities and improving efficiency via best practice adoption • Ability to work and make decisions with a high degree of independence • Excellent attention to detail • Eligibility to obtain a US Security clearance • PMP or similar accreditation or certification is helpful but not required • Experience in the SaaS, satellite/space, or related technology industry is helpful • TS/SCI Clearance highly preferred • Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State for ITAR compliance
